What Does MSS SP 75 Mean?
MSS SP-75 Fittings are adapters that help connect straight sections of piping equipment that allow it to regulate fluid and gaseous flow in the system. The MSS SP-75 Fittings are standard wrought butt-weld fittings that play a critical role to regulate or measure the flow. These fittings work well in high-pressure applications seen in oil, gas, transmission, and distribution systems. They are designed in either seamless or welded specifications.
Table of Content
The MSS Sp 75 Elbow is one of the most common fittings that is used to change the direction of the flow between two piping grades. These elbows are available at angles of 45, 90 and 22.5 degree turns. MSS SP-75 Tee Fittings is a versatile fitting that is shaped in the form of a T. They have a single inlet with two outlets that are placed at 90 degrees to the main connection line. The MSS SP 75 End Cap is primarily used to close the ends of the hydraulic system. These caps are generally threaded, allowing them to be easily fitted and dissembled from the line. An MSS SP 75 Pipe Reducer helps join piping equipment of dissimilar sizes. These reducers ensure a smooth flow from a larger to a smaller reducing size pipe. They are designed in concentric and eccentric configurations.

MSS SP 75 seamless fittings are produced using a standard extrusion process as billets are passed through steel to shape them. The absence of seams in these fittings gives them higher strength and better tolerances. The MSS SP welded fittings are produced in long continuous lengths and are cheaper than seamless fittings. Produced by various bending welding methods, they have a more pressure capacity than standard seamless grade fittings. Generally, thin-walled piping equipment is preferred via welding production.
